   The eTwinning project "Would You Play With Me?" provided our students with a wonderful opportunity to rediscover traditional games, engage in physical activities, and collaborate with students and teachers from different European countries.

   Throughout the project, students participated in a variety of educational and recreational activities designed to promote teamwork, communication, cultural awareness, and healthy lifestyles while reducing excessive screen time and encouraging active participation.

Game Workshop Activity

   One of the most enjoyable parts of the project was the Game Workshop Activity, during which students learned and practiced several traditional Romanian games.

Stilt Walking. Students practiced balance, coordination, and concentration while walking on stilts and completing relay challenges.

Defend the Fortress. Students worked in teams to protect their goal while their opponents attempted to score points by following specific game rules that encouraged cooperation and fair play.

Sack Race. This traditional game brought excitement and laughter while helping students improve their agility, balance, and coordination.

Tug of War. Students developed teamwork, strength, and communication skills while working together to achieve a common goal.

Knock Down the Castle. Using soft balls, students aimed to knock down foam brick castles, improving accuracy, concentration, and strategic thinking.

Oina Ball Relay. Inspired by traditional Romanian sports, this activity encouraged speed, teamwork, and quick decision-making. These games helped students develop physical abilities while learning the importance of respecting rules, cooperating with teammates, and demonstrating fair play.

Cross-Cultural Game Exchange Activity

      As part of the Cross-Cultural Game Exchange Activity, our students learned and played the Turkish traditional game "Stop Game", introduced by the students of teacher Ahmet Korkmaz.

This activity allowed students to discover another culture through play and understand that games can connect children regardless of language, nationality, or cultural background.

The experience was both educational and enjoyable and helped strengthen intercultural understanding among project partners.

Game Day Activity

      On 29 May 2026, students of Școala Gimnazială Nr. 1 Tulucești enthusiastically participated in the Game Day Activity organized within the project. During this special event, students took part in various traditional street games and movement-based activities that promoted physical exercise, teamwork, social interaction, and fair play. The day was filled with positive energy, smiles, and memorable experiences, demonstrating that traditional games remain an effective way to encourage active participation and healthy lifestyles.

Collaboration and Project Products

     Throughout the project, students actively contributed to the creation of various project products and dissemination materials. They prepared photographs, videos, presentations, posters, and other materials that documented their activities and learning experiences.

     Students also participated in collaborative activities and contributed to the development of common project products, including the Digital Street Games Book, project boards, online presentations, surveys, slogan and poster activities, and other materials shared with partner schools through the ESEP platform and social media channels.

     One of the most valuable aspects of the project was the international cooperation between partner schools. Students participated in online meetings where they introduced themselves, presented traditional games from their countries, exchanged ideas and experiences, and learned about the customs, traditions, and cultural heritage of their European partners.

Project Impact

Through participation in the project, students:

  • improved their communication and teamwork skills;
  • increased their participation in physical activities;
  • developed respect for rules and fair play;
  • discovered traditional games from Romania and other countries;
  • strengthened their cultural awareness and intercultural understanding;
  • learned the importance of balancing technology use with active and healthy recreational activities.

Conclusion

     The eTwinning project "Would You Play With Me?" was a valuable educational experience that combined learning, movement, culture, and friendship.

    We are proud of our students' involvement and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with wonderful partners from Türkiye, Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and Romania. The project demonstrated that traditional games continue to play an important role in education by promoting cooperation, inclusion, healthy lifestyles, and cultural heritage.

    We sincerely thank the project founder Ahmet Korkmaz, the co-founder Codruța Rusu, and all project partners for their collaboration, friendship, and support throughout this beautiful European journey.
