eTwinning Project: "Would You Like To Play With Me?" - Teachers'  Zoom Meetings and Students' Experience Sharing Events

As part of our “Would you play with me!” eTwinning project, we successfully held our online Zoom events. One of the meetings was on 17 April. On the evening of Friday, April 17, with great excitement and high interaction, bringing together 17 partners and 81 students from 5 different countries.

During the event, our students had the opportunity to express the knowledge and experiences they gained throughout the project by actively and confidently using their English language skills. At the same time, by communicating with their peers from different countries, they not only practiced their language skills but also gained new perspectives through cultural interaction.

This event made a significant contribution to the development of our students’ communication, collaboration, and self-expression skills, while also providing a strong foundation for international interaction. We would like to thank all our project partners and students who contributed to this meaningful process.

ჩვენი “Would you play with me!” eTwinning პროექტის ფარგლებში, რამდენიმე შეხვედრა გაიმართა.

On February 16, an orientation meeting was held with students to introduce the eTwinning project "Would You Play With Me?" and outline its implementation phases. The session focused on the project's significance, core objectives, and the specific challenges that led to its creation.

Students were briefed on the project’s mission: promoting the mindful and balanced use of digital technologies, reducing the risks of digital addiction, and reviving forgotten traditional street games. Emphasis was placed on the project's role in strengthening social bonds, fostering collaboration skills, and enhancing cultural awareness.

The meeting also covered the primary stages of the project, including:

Exploring traditional games from partner countries.

Participating in collaborative international activities.

Utilizing digital tools for educational purposes.

Sharing and reflecting on project outcomes.

The workshop was divided into informational and practical segments. The practical phase took place in the ICT Laboratory, where students logged into the platform and completed the "Pre-project Thoughts" survey to document their initial expectations.

The project is led by Geography teacher Ahmet Korkmaz (Turkey), in collaboration with founding partner Rusu Codruta (Romania). The initiative brings together 16 partners from Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Georgia. The participating teachers from LEPL Kutaisi St. Nino Public School #3 are and Sopio Khvadagiani, Natia Gigauri, Ana Chachkhiani.

eTwinning Project: Final Outcomes and Evaluation Report

Core Project Objectives

The eTwinning initiative titled “Would You Like to Play With Me?” was launched to address the growing concern of digital screen dependency among children and teenagers. By reintroducing nearly forgotten traditional street games, the project motivated students to step away from their devices and engage in physical, face-to-face social activities. The ultimate goal was to help youth find a sustainable balance between technology use and real-world interactions, while simultaneously boosting their skills in social communication, teamwork, cultural literacy, and active living.

Additionally, the project focused on investigating, cataloging, and safeguarding traditional children's games across various nations. This effort helps protect intangible cultural heritage and pass it down to future generations. Through this cross-cultural exchange, participants celebrated their own local heritage while exploring and valuing the traditions of their international peers.

Timeline and Participant Profiles

Spanning roughly six months, this initiative relied on the close cooperation of educators and students across several European borders. Youth from Türkiye and various partner nations took an active role in every phase. The Georgian cohort was primarily composed of students between the ages of 15 and 17, whereas some international partner teams included younger demographics.

This diverse, multinational framework gave students the chance to connect with peers from various backgrounds, coordinate shared tasks, and build meaningful intercultural perspectives.

Summary of Implemented Activities

During the initial phase, students researched historic street games native to their own countries. Through literature reviews and investigative assignments, they explored the origins, mechanics, required equipment, and cultural relevance of these pastimes. The findings were distributed among the international partners and ultimately compiled into a collective master product: the Digital Street Games Book.

Once the research was complete, students produced promotional videos to demonstrate how these games are played. After sharing these video guides with the wider project network, participants took the games into their own communities—teaching them to classmates, school peers, and neighborhood friends to practically keep these traditions alive.

In the second phase, each student group adopted a game introduced by a partner country and taught it to their local peers. This allowed the youth to experience foreign cultural traditions firsthand rather than just reading about them. Visual media (photographs and videos) documenting these playground sessions were gathered to serve as core project artifacts and outreach material.

Cross-Border Collaboration and Communication

Supervised by their respective teachers, students met periodically via virtual Zoom sessions. These online gatherings allowed them to exchange personal experiences, review ongoing tasks, troubleshoot obstacles, and brainstorm creative solutions.

These international video conferences allowed students to:

  • Strengthen their practical English communication and speaking skills.
  • Build friendships with peers across Europe.
  • Refine their public speaking and self-expression abilities.
  • Gain firsthand experience in cross-border teamwork.
  • Cultivate deep respect, patience, and appreciation for global diversity.

Consequently, the initiative served as a powerful catalyst for both the personal growth and academic advancement of everyone involved.

Project Monitoring and Impact Assessment

To accurately gauge the project's influence and effectiveness, a variety of diagnostic tools were utilized throughout the timeline. Students, educators, and parents completed questionnaires and feedback rubrics both before the launch and after the conclusion of the project.

The evaluation framework consisted of:

  • Baseline and concluding project surveys.
  • Screen time and digital dependency awareness diagnostics.
  • Peer voting surveys for the project's logo, slogan, and posters.
  • Event and activity satisfaction forms.
  • Qualitative student feedback logs.

An analysis of the gathered data revealed a substantial increase in students' knowledge of heritage games, a measurable shift toward healthier screen-time habits, and a heightened commitment to protecting cultural legacies.

Outreach and Dissemination Elements

To maximize the project's footprint, all final products, media, and insights were shared publicly through an array of communication channels. Photos, videos, press updates, posters, and survey metrics were published via:

These robust promotional efforts successfully extended the project’s message far beyond the immediate participants, reaching parents, nearby communities, civic stakeholders, and external academic institutions.

Educator Coordination

The supervising teachers maintained a strict schedule of monthly web conferences. These meetings were used to audit finished tasks, track the overarching timeline, resolve logistical issues, and map out milestones for the upcoming weeks.

This systematic communication ensured the project remained strictly on schedule while reinforcing a democratic culture of shared leadership and collective decision-making.

Final Milestones and Achievements

Over the course of this six-month journey, students successfully resurrected, practiced, and popularized historic street games, opening a window into the cultural lives of their European peers. Observers noted clear growth in the participants' social vocabulary, collaborative instincts, cultural empathy, and conversational foreign language confidence.

Ultimately, the project proved that deeply engaging, educational, and joyful experiences exist outside the digital landscape. By fostering a lifestyle richer in physical movement and direct human connection, the “Would You Like to Play With Me?” initiative fully realized its goals—leaving behind a legacy of preserved heritage, sharper social skills, strong international bonds, and a proven blueprint for countering digital addiction.
